Home Ground

Over the easter break my mother and I jetted back to the good ol' British turf. And thankfully we brought the sunshine with us!

And when the sun is out in the UK there is nothing better than pulling out your welly boots from their hiding place and getting outside for a country walk.

Pondering through fields and climbing over stye's, we worked up an appetite. And what is more fulfilling and warming than porridge, am I right? I simply placed oats in a sauce pan with coco-nut milk, water and vanilla bean paste and warmed it through. Pop some fresh fruit on top and sprinkle with with you favorite toppings, I opted for almond butter and cacao nibs - delish!

We took this beautiful spring day in our stride and ceased the day by walking up Beacon hill. This is a family tradition of ours, my mum and her family used to do it when they were children, as did we. When we were younger it seemed so steep and so challenging but we were full of beans we were able to run up and roll back down by the time the adults had even got half way!

Today it was a breeze but still as enjoyable as it always has been!

I even got to share the experience with this chap!

And what do you know it, we worked ourselves up an appetite again! We couldn't resist stopping at a pub on the way home and I most certainly wasn't going home without this 'super food' sandwich.

When we got home, despite all the walking, we fully embraced the weather (can you tell we are British) and did some yoga in the garden.

It's date night! And boy was I happy.

My lovely chap took me out to a delicious India restaurant. And usually it's a no phone zone but I snapped a few photos of the food.

I had a chickpea and spinach curry while he had a masala. The food was so filling and so delicious, most definitely the best way to end such a lovely day.

But the chocolate and movie afterwards didn't hurt either.

I hope you've had a great easter
