A weekend in London; from meeting old friends, to show watching - here is our two day diary!
First things first, a glass of wine. Meeting up with our gorgeous friend Georgie in Covent garden was the first thing we did when we got to London. Lots of catching up and laughter...I couldn't think of anything better! A snap of Maddie and Georgie reunited after a year of waiting...
Walking through Covent garden, Georgie had to depart, however we decided to buy some last minute tickets to the theatre...how exciting!
But first, in true English spirit we stopped for tea and cake in this beautiful restaurant - Muriel's Kitchen in Soho.
Hmmm what to have?
This cheeky treat is what Maddie and I shared between us...we did not make a mistake it was heavenly!!!
Soon demolished...
But tea was prioritized before the brownie...My mother and Maddie went for the English breakfast tea.
While I opted for the Green tea.
And finally it was time for us to go to the theatre in this elegant building in Soho. Can you guess what we are going to see...
The Commitments!
If you look close enough you can see we were photo bombed by two people...how rude!
Inside the theatre was phenominal. High, desiccant ceilings with exquisite carvings.
While waiting, we enjoyed the bar room and all of its beauty.
The theatre performance itself was by far one of the best i have seen...they had all of us up at the end dancing and singing (and I didn't even know the words!)
Another sunny morning. Walking to St Pauls Cathedral, conveniently two minutes from where we were staying, we ate our breakfast in a small French bakery. During this, there was a wedding being prepared in the Cathedral itself...talk about fancy wedding venues...
Making our way to Oxford street we came across this quirky pub covered top to toe in various flower arrangements.
Typically, we stopped for a quick snap. It would have been rude not too.
To my mothers request we snapped an obligatory telephone box photo...again it would have been rude not too.
A certain theme seems to be catching on, another tourist photo of a big red bus.
Covent garden, we meet again.
We discovered a stall in the market of delicate hand-made soap in their hundreds.
Here is a few that my mum picked out for herself and friends.
Quick. Stop. Snap some photos.
Leaving my mum in covent garden with her auntie, Maddie and I walked on to the infamous Oxford street to do some shopping (do not emphasize the "some"...a lot)
I stopped for a picture, clearly distracted by something...but also someone got in my way, how rude.
One final snap to wrap the trip up. Finishing on Regent street. To finally meet my mum in Strada for dinner, an Italian restaurant, with a well deserved glass of wine and salmon for dinner...yum!
